Jardinière 1400 was designed by Georg Jensen in 1926 but was not produced until 2013 when the original drawings were found in the archives. In the hands of the silversmiths, the stunning centrepiece is formed into a unique work of art.
Featuring three tiers comprising an upper vase and two lower fruit bowls, the magnificent work stands 42.8 centimetres tall and is 37.7 centimetres wide. With its characteristic hand-hammered surface and elaborate Art Nouveau-style floral details, the Jardinière 1400 is a lasting expression of supreme craftsmanship and artistic vision.
The surface of the Jardenière is covered with delicate hammer marks – a distinct Georg Jensen style - which soften the reflected light to create the greyish shimmer he associated with moonlight.
