TORP introduces Brdr. Krüger’s ARV furniture collection, created in collaboration with designer David Thulstrup for the Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark.
When the award-winning restaurant Noma in Copenhagen decided on a full redesign several years ago, they turned to acclaimed architect and designer David Thulstrup. The designer also collaborated with furnituremaker Brdr. Krüger to create bespoke furniture for the restaurant, which inspired the ARV collection. The name “ARV” is derived from the Danish word for “Heritage.”
The ARV chair design concept evokes tree branch formations connecting to form an organically shaped whole. The casually elegant design requires a technically complex, detailed and time-consuming building process. This produces a structurally strong, classic piece that lasts generations.
The ARV dining chair, dining table, and the new ARV lounge chair are available in Canada from TORP. The collection features wood finishes in fumed oak, oak with a wax-oil or white wax-oil finish. The chairs can be configured with or without an armrest. A backrest in solid wood can be combined with a seat in hand-woven natural paper cord, textile or leather. A backrest in woven paper cord is combined with a woven seat.
For over 130 years, Brdr. Krüger has collaborated with some of the world’s best design and architecture talents to create a continually evolving furniture collection, maintaining close involvement for every stage of the design and build process.
