Shaping the Extraordinary: Six Short Films from Fritz Hansen

Recognising the achievements of designers and architects for over 150 years of iconic Scandinavian and Danish design.

In a series of short films, Danish furniture producer Fritz Hansen guides us through the meaning and purpose of extraordinary design, and how it can change our lives forever. Featuring interviews with Bjarke Ingels, Co-founder of BIG Architects; Anne-Louise Sommer, Director of Designmuseum Denmark; Signe Kongebro, Architect & Partner at Henning Larsen Architects, and others to ask: What is extraordinary design? What is the importance of design in our lives? What makes lasting design?

“It is incredible how much it has influenced the different generations. It is an amazingly authentic form of design; there is a certain openness to it, a modesty, as well as an amazing eye for quality. It’s deeply tied to the mindset of the Scandinavian people.” -  Lilli Hollein, Director of Vienna’s Museum of Applied Arts on defining the ongoing importance of Scandinavian design.

TORP is proud to offer Fritz Hansen’s furniture and accessories including designs from Poul Kjærholm, Arne Jacobsen, Piero Lissoni, and others to architects and home owners throughout Canada.
